To apply to this event you need to login or register here
Venue: YEU
Start: 01/01/2019
End: 31/12/2020
Deadline: 23/12/2018 23:59 (CET)
Description of event: WHAT IS PET?

YEU PET (YEU People for Education and Training), is a platform for educators and practitioners in the youth sector who have worked or who have shown interest in working with YEU international educational activities – training courses, youth exchanges, seminars, conventions and similar events.

The main role of the PET is to empower, motivate and coach YEU members and member organisations. PET contributes to the capacity building of the network and increases the visibility of YEU International as an organisation that provides quality educational activities. Furthermore, the platform provides a space for the exchange of experiences and the development of competences of its members.

The role of PET is to work in 3 main fields:
Capacity building of YEU: Empower, motivate and coach YEU Members and Member organizations
Advise on educational matters and produce educational materials
Capacity building and the development of competences of the members of PET

STRUCTURE
PET is composed of the educators and practitioners in the youth sector, the Coordination team, the YEU Governing Board and the Administrative Office representatives.

MEMBERS
The PET membership is limited to 20 members. The number of de facto members will be determined by the number of qualified candidates. The selection will also aim at having a balance in terms of gender, geography, member organisations, expertise and experience. This balance will guarantee that the diversity of our membership is reflected in PET.

PET has 3 different categories of members:
Facilitators:
Someone who is just starting out and has limited experience in the facilitating of groups at the international level.
Junior Trainers:
Someone who has experience in facilitating and training but not to the extent of being able to run a training course themselves.
Senior Trainers:
Someone who has a lot of experience, can take the full responsibility of running a training course from inception to implementation to evaluation and reporting, and take responsibility for a team.

Traditionally PET included the role of Organiser. Due to a number of circumstances it has been decided to drop this role. YEU will now employ a Brussels based Events and Membership Officer who will fulfill the role of Organiser for all YEU activities. However, it is recognised that at times there is a need for ‘experts’ other than trainers, for these roles there will be specific calls as the need arises. YEU will create a database of experts soon where organisers will be included.

The interested candidates should be supported by YEU member organisations with a nomination letter. (See below for details and structure of a nomination letter).

There is possibility for external educators and practitioners in the youth sector who are not members of YEU Member Organisations to be a part of PET, however this is limited.

PET COORDINATION
The Coordination team of PET is responsible for leading the work of the platform and supporting the process of selecting PET members for YEU events, training courses and other activities. They are supported by one person from the Administrative Office and one person from the Governing Board.

MANDATE
The mandate of PET is two years: This selection is for 2019-2020. Each member will undergo an annual evaluation done by the PET Coordination Team and the YEU Governing Board with support of the YEU Administrative Office.

SELECTION PROCEDURE
The selection will be based on the expected profile described below in this document and the general quality of the application. If needed a Skype interview will be carried out. The selection will take into account gender, level of competence, and geographical balance. The final selection for the membership of PET will be made by the PET Coordination Team and the Governing Board of YEU. Every applicant can apply for only one position in PET (Facilitator, Junior, Senior).

IMPORTANT: You will be requested to upload a nomination letter signed by YEU member organisation. In case you are not applying on behalf of YEU MO, please attach a document in which you will briefly give us an overview of cooperation with YEU or YEU MOs so far.
